Today, v3.1 of the player has been released with a much-awaited update to the Post-Image functionality. The Post-Image is now passed in as a Flash var.
You will see several minor changes in the download package:
+ addition of an Instructions.txt file
+ CodeGenerator.html which is used to generate your embed code
To set your Post-Image path, just open the CodeGenerator and enter your image URL into the Post-Image URL field. This URL can be absolute (ex: http://www.mywebsite.com/images/myimage.jpg) or relative to the player.swf file (ex: myimage.jpg).
I also improved the way the player loads the image so that you don’t see the resizing if it has to adjust the image.
The Post-Image as a Flash var solves the problem of having multiple players with different Post-Images on the same page. Thank you for your patience in waiting for this improvement.

OS FLV has gotten over the 3,000 mark for downloads from www.SoftSpecialist.com. In May, we were right around the 2,000 mark. We hope to see even more growth of these numbers as we continue to improve and maintain the player.
As always, thanks for your support.

I have been hearing about many issues where the player is loading but showing an error. When troubleshooting, the first thing you should check is the path to the flv. The flash var ‘movie’ does not like relative paths, your path must be absolute in order for the player to load and run the clip.
Example of Relative Path: ../../videos/mario.flv
Example of Absolute Path: http://www.website.com/videos/mario.flv

The Downloads page has been updated with a new release of v3.0 to fix the issue with the blank white progress bar going out of alignment while a clip was loading.
Another issue being looked at: When you try to load a 100mb+ file into the player, if you seek to the white bar (where video has not been loaded yet) it will break the player. I’ve got the fix to a point where Firefox handles this issue but for some reason it still breaks in IE. Hopefully this issue will also be resolved soon.
