Check out v3.0 beta!
admin - 1:08 pm
That’s right, v3.0 beta has been posted for download. Please post any bugs on the Downloads page!
This version includes a smarter horizontal volume control, some small control design improvements and ability to add Poster Image. I will be posting detailed instructions for the poster image in the Installation section of Documentation.
All you need to do to add the Poster Image is make sure the file is named “postImage.jpg” and float it in the same directory as “player.swf”. It must be the exact same dimensions as the video, though. This functionality will improve over time and new releases.
Autoload Bug Fix
admin - 9:17 am
Just put OSFLV Player v 2.2.6 up for Download with a major bug fix for Autoload. If you set Autoload to off and Autoplay to off, the video will not start loading until the big play button is clicked. Should be very helpful for sites running multiple videos on the page.
The only setting that will break the player is Autoplay=on AND Autoload=off. This will cause major issues because obviously you can’t autoplay something that isn’t loaded in.
Thanks zeighy dotNet for finding this bug!

April Status Update

I am currently re-designing the volume again per request. The next release will have a pop-up vertical volume slider, functionality for a poster image, the pre-loader, mute function and POSSIBLY a playlist function. What more could you ask for in a simple video player?

Video News

I wanted to provide a link for a great video news resource. http://www.videonuze.com is an excellent source for news about everything online video.
My favorite piece of current video news is the talk about Google buying Hulu and merging it with YouTube… leaving us with YouLu or HuTube. That’s a huge merger!
I think the Whitehouse website should use the OS FLV Player http://www.whitehouse.gov/nowruz/.
